Conditions of Hire
Terms and conditions of hire as per 1 July 2016
The Hirer unconditionally accepts the following terms when hiring equipment from Fontys Party Hire.
The equipment supplied for hire always remains the property of Fontys Party Hire.
Fontys Party Hire has quality control procedures in place.
All equipment is checked, counted and cleaned prior to delivery or collection.
It is the Hirer’s responsibility to check all ordered equipment is delivered and in good order. If any items are missing or incorrect please notify us immediately so that we can arrange replacements. Failure to notify us will result in client being charged for ordered equipment.
Hire equipment is not insured, all responsibility for loss or damage lies with the hire client.
4 Charges and terms
Quotes are valid for a period of 30 days, unless otherwise specified.
Prices quoted are for one day’s hire unless otherwise specified.
Prices are subject to change without notice.
All orders are cash on delivery of goods unless previously arranged.
Items cancelled up to 7 days before hire date will be charged 50% of the hire charge.
Items cancelled after delivery will be charged at the full rate.
Installation and delivery costs are for normal conditions. Should extra labour be required under any circumstances then additional charges will be levied.
To confirm a booking, a deposit is required, the amount of which is subject to agreement between client and Fontys Party Hire. Final payment is required prior to delivery/pick up.
All hired goods attract 10% GST. This is already included in the price quoted in the price list.
A security bond may be required to cover hire items. This will be returned less any costs for damages and missing equipment.
Any charges incurred by Fontys Party Hire or their agent, in recovering equipment and/or monies will be charged to the hire client.
5 Loss, damage and cleaning
Any loss, damage or breakage of equipment (including packaging items) will be charged for.
All equipment is to be returned clean, unless otherwise specified. Returned equipment that requires cleaning will incur an additional charge. Red carpet that requires steam cleaning will incur a $ 50.00 charge.
Once a marquee is installed, all responsibility for the marquee lies with the hire client. Any loss, damage or breakage will be charged for.
The Hirer hereby indemnifies and holds indemnified Fontys Party Hire and against all claims, actions, demands and expenses in any way arising from injury, death, loss of income or damage caused to the Hirer or the associated users in respect of the equipment.
7 Set up and removal of equipment
Fontys Party Hire is not responsible for set up of equipment unless expressly stated in writing.
Installers of marquees must be informed of location of all underground services, including water, gas, electricity, reticulation pipes and telephone cables prior to installation. Whilst all care will be taken, no responsibility is taken for any damage caused to services or other equipment. Any repairs will be at the client’s expense.
Utmost care will be taken when erecting a marquee, however no liability will be accepted for any damage to property or fixing that a marquee may be attached to.
